Chip Conley

Chip Conley is the founder and executive chairman of Joie de Vivre, America’s second largest boutique hotel company consisting of three-dozen award-winning hotels.  Chip and his company’s time-tested techniques and transformational leadership practices have been featured in Fast Company, Fortune and the Wall Street Journal.  And, in 2010, Joie de Vivre was awarded the #1 customer service award in the U.S. in the Upper Upscale hotel category (by Market Metrix with JdV beating Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, Sheraton, Westin, Kimpton, and Peninsula hotels).

Also a best-selling author, Chip illustrates the theory that transformed his business and shares his unique prescription for success (even in turbulent times) in his latest book PEAK: How Great Companies Get Their Mojo from Maslow (Jossey-Bass 2007). Chip’s fourth book, Emotional Equations: Simple Truths for Creating Happiness & Success, will be out in January 2012.  Honored in 2007 by the San Francisco Business Times as the “Most Innovative CEO” in the Bay Area, Chip is the founder of San Francisco’s annual Celebrity Pool Toss fundraiser, which has raised more than $4 million for inner city families in San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. Chip received his BA and MBA from Stanford University and was bestowed an honorary doctorate in psychology from Saybrook Graduate School in 2009.

Dr Martyn Newman is MD of RocheMartin and a consulting psychologist with an international reputation as an expert in emotional intelligence (EQ) and leadership. As well as holding senior academic positions at leading universities in Australia and Europe, he has many years of experience in leadership training and management consulting across Europe and Asia. Martyn has worked as an executive coach and advisor to senior people at many leading companies including: Boeing, BP, ExxonMobil, AXA, Foster’s, GSK, and Quiksilver, to improve the performance of their people and organisation.

He is currently an executive coach ExxonMobil and has consulted to the European Union and the Bulgarian Government’s Ministry of Finance, assisting them to develop leadership excellence.

He is the author of Emotional Capitalists – The New Leaders, and coauthor of the Emotional Capital ReportTM– the international benchmark for measuring EQ and leadership performance, and the Emotional Intelligence Sports Inventory – the world’s first psychological inventory to measure how EQ supports elite sports performance.

Sarah Co founded Grey Interiors five years ago. Her entrepreneurial qualities inspire all aspects of interior design and build, including all senses.

Sarah’s expertise lies in office design for small to medium companies; the enjoyment of working with growing companies and developing designs to suit their changing cultures and brands.

The key to a good design is to listen, understand, troubleshoot, analyse, direct, and create practical and motivating designs that connect with the culture, to WOW, excite and inspire the workplace.

James Averdieck

James is a highly successful entrepreneur and the founder of the enviable brand Gü Chocolate Puds . With £65k of seed capital he built a £30m business over the course of 6 years, achieving 40% brand awareness on minimal marketing spend through commitment to brand design, PR and experiential marketing. The Gü brand was one of the fastest growing businesses in the UK through relentless devotion to product development and innovation, with successful market entry in Australia, New Zealand and Germany through distributors tracking at £4m in year 1.

With a successful Blue Chip background in strategy and business development in the Retail and Manufacturing sectors, and having now sold Gü, James is now enjoying spending some time in a consultancy capacity helping businesses to accelerate their development and get maximum value out of their marketing strategies.
